Convict Hunters

Under the law, those convicted of certain felonies, 18 Pa.C.S.A. § 6105, are not allowed to possess firearms. Certain convicts, 34 Pa.C.S.A. § 929, aren’t even allowed to hunt. But who is responsible for checking whether Joe Hunter is a convict or ineligible to hunt?

In Montana, nobody is checking.

Hundreds of people barred from having guns because they are felons on parole or probation are still able to get hunting licenses in Montana with no questions asked, an Associated Press investigation found.

If we get convicted for hunting on a Sunday, I guess our name will be added to that list.

  1. Perfectly legal to hunt with bows. Just ask the Duke boys. 😉
