UPDATE: Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter!
Phil’s official forecast as read 2/2/06 at sunrise at Gobbler’s Knob:
It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Around the country there are many imitators of me.In Harrisburg there is Gus who appears on TV
working for the lottery. Then all around town,
Cute groundhog statues abound. They all look like me, I found.Today on the Knob as I’m doing my job,
I don’t like this likeness of me.
It’s my shadow I see. Six more weeks of mild winter there will be.
Leafing through the Cabela’s Shooting catalog the other night … they are selling .233 tracer ammo. A bit pricey ($80 for 200 rounds), but might be kind of fun for chuckin’. Any thoughts on the potential damage tracers may have on the gun barrel?
I better not get ahead of myself on flinging tracers at chucks. Is it legal in PA to hunt with tracers?
Fear not, grasshopper. 34 Pa. C. S. Section 2322(a)(4) only restricts “any projectile which is not all lead or which is not designed to expand on contact.”
Tracer ammunition may be able to meet this definition. It is clearly not “all lead” but it may be designed to “expand on contact.”
What do you think? Let’s test it this Sunday.
