Time For Landowner DMAP Applications

GAME COMMISSION TO BEGIN ACCEPTING DMAP APPLICATIONS
It’s time for landowners who want to participate in DMAP to enroll.

Landowners looking to enroll in the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP), which is designed to help landowners manage deer on their properties, have until July 1 to submit an application addressed to “DMAP Application” to the appropriate Game Commission Region Office.

Hunters will have a chance to apply for DMAP tags come August.

After August 1, hunters interested in obtaining a listing of DMAP properties having available coupons should consult the agency’s website (www.pgc.state.pa.us) or mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with a letter indicating their county of interest, to the Game Commission Region Office responsible for that particular county.

This is a nice, under-publicized program. Although I have yet to take a deer under the program, it gives more opportunities to hunt.

I’m sure the “there’s no deer left in Pennsylvania” crowd does not support this program.
